In addition to my ongoing work in DIY digital filmmaking (aka "cruel auteurism"), personal cinema, and documentary production, I am intrigued by the productive yet critically troubling nature of the selfie. Early in my career, my energies contemplated how a "self" could measure up to postmodern critiques. I continue to enjoy studies on the self, our conceptualizations and performances that hope to articulate self-hood, and how digital photography amps up our engagements with digitally-mediated representations. Lately, I am sensitized to how these representations are configured as "branding."
